Lee Brice, Rob Hatch, Elisha Hoffman, and Derek & Kristi Hutchins Lead Pump House Records
Nashville, Tenn. (March 25, 2020) — Years after co-writing the #1 hit "I Don't Dance" together, country hitmaker Lee Brice and veteran songwriter Rob Hatch are teaming up once again. This time, the two entrepreneurially-minded artists are collaborating on something new: Pump House Records.
An artist development collective and “launchpad,” founded by Lee, Rob, Elisha Hoffman (renowned producer/engineer/songwriter) and veteran business leaders Derek and Kristi Hutchins, Pump House Records is unlike any other company in Nashville. It's a collective “run by artists, for artists,” says Rob, “with a family-like bond and an all-hands-on-deck work ethic.”
For proof, look no further than the company's first project: a new album by singer/songwriter Nick Norman.
Recorded at Zac Brown's Southern Ground Studios, Nashville, and produced by Lee, Rob, and Elisha, Nick Norman's album doesn't just shine new light on a hardworking songwriter who, like Lee, has built a career on the back of a formidable voice and dedication to touring. It also spotlights the camaraderie and collaboration that exists at the heart of Pump House Records.
Years before Nick began recording the album's first track, he found himself sharing a different sort of studio with Lee Brice — a makeshift recording space in a church camp shed.
"Nick and I have been friends since we were six years old, then as teenagers, we worked together as counselors at church camp," remembers Lee. "We both loved to sing, so the preacher allowed us to turn the little pump house behind the church into a recording studio, where we could record gospel music. That's where it all started."
More than two decades later, the friendly collaboration continues. Pump House Records combines business savvy with artistic integrity, offering artists a career springboard without threatening to extinguish their creative spark.
It's the best of both worlds, in other words… and it's just getting started.
"This label is a group of friends supporting friends," says Rob, whose handful of #1 hits include Justin Moore's "If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away" and Randy Houser's "Goodnight Kiss." "It’s always been that way with us."
Adding, "This time we’re taking it a step further by working with Nick, whose passion and voice brings to mind Van Morrison, early Zac Brown, and the heart and free-spiritedness of Levon Helm. We couldn’t be more excited."
Nick Norman’s debut LP will come out in 2020. More information about its release date, special guests, and distribution partners will be announced in coming weeks.

About Pump House Records:
Pump House Records is a forward-thinking artist development collective offering A&R, promotion, and other label services to its clientele. Launched in Nashville by a creative team that includes three chart-topping songwriters, the label was co-founded by country star Lee Brice, hit songwriter Rob Hatch, producer/engineer/songwriter Elisha Hoffman, and business developers, Derek and Kristi Hutchins. The Pump House name is a reference to the makeshift recording studio that Lee constructed in a church camp shed during his teenage years, while working as a counselor at a South Carolina church youth camp with childhood friend and lifelong collaborator, Nick Norman. Appropriately, Norman's 2020 LP will serve as Pump House Records' first project, featuring production and co-writing contributions from the organization's three creative heads — Lee, Rob, and Elisha — as well as Nick’s show-stealing vocals, and songs that bring humor, heart, groove, and soulful swagger to the country genre.
